B’atz’ is the thread. The thread of time. The thread of destiny. In this thread are written all the events of time, the events occured all through the 5200 years of the long count ; here is written the history of the peoples. B'atz' as well is the thread or umbilical cord, the one which links us to the belly of our mother when we are being born. B'atz' as well is the thread with which our clothes are weaved, beautiful huipiles which are the clothing of identification of the peoples, and which bear a lot of their history.

That day B’atz’ was established in order for the destiny of each one of us to be fulfilled. The one born on that day, has as his vocation to become an Ajq'ij, or spiritual guide. He will be a good spiritual guide, a messenger ; he will lead a long life. The gifts which he possesses, that the Ajaw has manifested to him in his life, will be all the material that he possesses in order to heal at a material level and at a spiritual level.

In the requests of this day, we ask for a good life for all the creatures we all are, on the face of the Earth.

      KAN B’ATZ’ NO’J

The person born that day was conceived a day Aq'ab'al, its destiny is ruled by the day Kawoq. In the Popol Wuj, Jun B’atz’ and Jun Chowen, great wise men, converted into monkeys, “out of pride, and because of mistreatments towards their younger brothers” Junajpu and Ixbalamke ; Jun B’atz’ and Jun Chowen were defeated by their younger brothers, through prodigy of theirs.

The energy of its conception, Aq’ab’al, gives it a special interest to the past and as well, a futurist sense of vision : its major problem will be locating itself in the present. It is destined to a spiritual development.

The Kan, on its right side, gives it an extra strength. The energy and the internal fire will be its major test. Its right hand will carry out many healings.

The No’j, on its left side, gives nobility to the knowledge acquired all through life, which with time, becomes wisdom. It possesses a strong tendency to spirituality.

The energy of its destiny, Kawoq, focuses the person on caring for and helping the community. The topic of the family will accompany it all through its life.
